Our Grand Opening has come and gone, and what a party it was! The sun was shining, the music was loud, and the air smelled of amazing BBQ from VG Meats. The Mustard Seed has been open for a few months, but this event really made things feel official. With vendors serving treats, kids playing together, and people mingling together over a shared love of local food, it truly felt like a celebration. Thank you to everyone who joined us last Saturday, to create a day that so accurately captured the values of the Mustard Seed.
A few highlights from the day:
Live music! It was so great to hear from some local bands, and there was some amazing dancing going on throughout the day. Thanks again to Terns, Lee Baby Sims, Peter Tigchelaar & Friends, Paul Hogeterp & Glenn MacDonald, and Basking Shark.
Thank you, everyone, for making this day such a success! It takes many hands to create something so lively, and the Grand Opening was a true reflection of the community focus that the Mustard Seed has been aiming for. A bit of exciting news that came out of the celebration: we passed 1600 members – a goal we hadn’t planned to meet until much farther down the road! We’re excited to see how the Mustard Seed grows and evolves over the next year, and look forward to celebrating again next summer!
A big thanks to Mustard Seed member George Qua-Enoo for taking these photos so that we can cherish the day!
