Come check out our latest addition to our full-service grocery store at 460 York Blvd, Hamilton – The Mustard Seed Cafe!
Cafe hours are slightly different from the store, and opens two hours earlier on weekdays to make your morning commute that much nicer:
CAFE OPENING HOURS
Mon-Fri 7am – 7pm
Saturday 8am – 5pm
Sunday 10am – 4pm
Our cafe has both indoor & outdoor seating, and a take-out counter. We also have free wifi! We will have all the regular drinks like fair trade coffee, tea, espresso, lattes, and Italian sodas with house-made syrups. We are also working on an ever evolving menu of specialty drinks and local snacks to reflect the changing seasons. Come check us out and let us know your thoughts!
Help us raise the funds to open a cafe in our community-owned grocery store so that we can better serve our neighbourhood~
Many people have told us they’d like to meet up with friends to enjoy a coffee or end their run with a smoothie, but there aren’t any opportunities in our neighbourhood. So we’re launching a café in our store! True to our Co-op’s values, we will focus on local fare, but we will also have indoor and outdoor seating, free WiFi, and we’ll be opening early at 7am to make your morning commute a little easier!
Help us open The Mustard Seed Cafe.
We are inviting you to help us open our community café. We have volunteers lined up to help create the space, but we need funding for new equipment and supplies. This investment will create a beautiful space where the good things growing in our neighbourhood and region can be shared, in a space where are all welcome. A few highlights:
- We are aiming to open in August, but first need to raise $10,000.
- The cafe counter will be located right where you walk in the store, with both indoor and outdoor seating facing York Blvd.
- We have launched a Kickstarter campaign to help meet our target.
- We have three weeks to meet our goal (deadline is July 25) and need to meet it all or nothing.
Check out our Kickstarter page to watch our little video and read about the different rewards we have created for each of our backers. They range from free coffees & lattes to kale shirts & tin mugs to a workshop on how to make an outdoor bake oven or brie cheese – and creating *and* naming your own smoothie or dessert!
What will we be serving?
We are still developing our menu, but here are a few images from local drinks and foods that we already sell at the Co-op, which we hope to have on the menu at our new cafe:
We will keep you updated of our progress in the coming days, so stay tuned and please help spread the word!
